City Cards For Christmas

What a great idea to incorporate the city in which you live into your Christmas cards. This could be something like you typical photo card on the front and then a map of the city on the back. New York Christmas cards would be perfect for this type of card. It would also be neat to just place your own picture on the back. You can see more designs like this at Page Stationery.

Affordable Wedding Save the Date Cards

Brides you are in luck! A new collection of wedding save the date cards has been released by Page Stationery. This line is much more affordable than a typical letterpress save the date card would be and it certainly offers brides a less expensive option when it comes to really nice cards.

I think most brides are torn between how much money to spend on the save the date. This gives them a great alternative to still get a high quality cards and use the other budgeted monies for more expensive wedding invitations.

Perhaps even better news is that they are continuing this line of digital cards to other areas including birth announcements and Holiday photo cards. Can’t wait to see what else they will come out with.

Kim Kardashian’s Wedding Invitations

Kim Kardashian’s wedding was on August 20 and these are the wedding invitations that she used. Now, I am not one to criticize a wedding invitation design but I must say these are not my style at all. I actually expected something much elegant from such a high profile celebrity and designer Lehr and Black but every couple has different tastes and I respect that.

With that in mind I would have preferred that Kim and Kris used a wedding invitation a bit more traditional or with more modern flair. More like these modern wedding invitations which are actually a combination of traditional but with a streak of elegance using just elegant fonts with graceful scripting.

Using the box that opens was clever and by all means Kim and Kris did create very unique wedding invitations and I’m sure they are of the finest quality coming from Lehr and Black. We wish them all the luck and success for the future and congratulations on finally tying the knot.

Don’t Settle For Generic Baby Birth Announcements

With the birth of our first child in our minds my husband and I decided that we would design our own girl birth announcements. We wanted all of our baby stationery to be finished and ready, except for the final birth details and picture of her (for the baby photo announcement) two months before our little daughter arrived. We didn’t want just any old baby girl birth announcement from the local card store. We wanted to make this whole occasion in our lives special, from the baby shower announcements to the final thank you cards after she was born.

My philosophy in life is, “Squeeze out every drop!”. I don’t like to rush through things because I want every drop of preciousness that the memories will hold for me for a lifetime. My husband was just as excited as I was about our wonderful tiny gift; the little girl that would forever change our lives. We talked a lot about how we wanted the birth to happen. We also planned out how we could include all of our families in the baby shower, our baby stationery and the baby birth announcements.

We have wonderful parents and we wanted them to feel how special they are to us. We also have one sibling each and a sweet little niece that we couldn’t love more. It may sound corny but we decided to have a family get together to show them the designs we were thinking about for all of our baby stationery. We wanted to get their input. We even wanted our four year old niece to be able to share her ideas about our baby photo birth announcements. After all, she and our daughter were going to be like sisters.

We wanted this baby birth announcements design party to be a fun and memorable occasion; a bonding time for all of us and the new member of our family, arriving soon. We decorated the house up like it was a birthday party; it was really a pre-birthday party. Since it was summertime the guys decided they would let the women relax and they would do the cooking. After we were all properly fed we got out our laptops and shared ideas back and forth about what we thought would be the perfect baby shower invitations and birth announcements.

There was a lot of bantering, joking and laughter shared amongst us all. We also shared happy stories from times gone by. Finally, we came up with the perfect baby girl birth announcement and baby stationery for the thank you cards. The time had flown by and it was time for every one to go to their homes. As we closed the door we stood their hugging and soaking in the love of what we had created that night. This was time we would all remember fondly. There are many facets to precious events in our lives and it would have been the same if we were preparing birth announcements for boys or a little girl. For us, having this bonding, baby birth announcements celebration, just for our family was almost as special as the day we all gathered to welcome our new baby girl into this world on her birthday.

Michael Kors & Lance LePere, Where Are The Wedding Invitations?

Ok, we all heard the fabulous news that Michael Kors and Lance LePere are getting married, but besides the fact that they are the hottest topic because they are two men getting married, what else could all the media outlets be missing??? Obviously, the most overwhelming subject matter here is what wedding invitations they are they ordering? As it should be with any notable wedding!

My choice for the best and most luscious wedding invite would be these succulent letterpress wedding invitations from Page Stationery. Michael Kors isn’t going to skimp a bit with style and quite frankly I can easily see Page Stationery Creative Director, Sue Corral, right up there on the set with Kors and Klum judging the Project Runway show. Afterall, her style is right in line with Kors, keeping it simple and elegant. God is in the details, right?

Here are a few examples I would have the couple take a look at before they handed everything over to Kate Spade or Vera Wang and her sub letterpress line of invitations at William Arthur. You get the picture?

Rachel Zoe Another Line Of Lipsticks!

Another line of lipsticks! Apparently Rachel Zoe has helped launch a new line of lipsticks called Exude Lipsticks which seems really appealing given that she has a gorgeous look and luscious lips to contribute to the success of the new launch. I do wish her continued success and by the way, what baby announcements did she use?

I only wish more celebrities would focus on some other types of products to get involved with instead of the same old perfumes and fragrances, lipsticks and other cosmetics. I have to hand it to Bethany for the Skinny Girl line great idea and nice planning to get it up and out and then sell! I think that is where most business owners go wrong, they don’t know when to sell.

It would be nice though to see a nice line of birth announcements cards like these or even a set of well designed letterpress wedding invitations from you favorite celebrity that would be affordable and still get some great design. I don’t think Vera Wang pulled it off with her new line. Maybe some will consider it in the future.

We all have a passion be it working on cards, printing presses or flowers. If you are like most people, you go to events or find people or friends with similar interests or passions like yours. It is really that simple. We like being around people who like the same thing we do.

If you have an interest in flowers or let’s say, roses, then you wouldn’t attend a flower show for orchids because that just isn’t you. But, if the rose show had a special orchid display, and because you love flowers and gardening, and can appreciate the amount of work and effort involved in planting orchids, then you would probably go from the rose show to the orchid show just because it is in the same building and you would see what they have and some of the beautiful arrangements on display. You could relate to this.

They might even have someone selling orchid stationery or sunflower cards which might spark you to look for rose stationery from a similar vendor. You never really know what you are going to find, so try to keep an open mind to all types of interests and you will find more friends with similar hobbies who appreciate your work.
