Destination weddings have been popular with brides and grooms for years but I began to wonder why such a venue would be chosen and why. What is it that makes this an attractive venue for couples? A couple of things come to mind.

Firstly, I think a destination wedding gives couples a neutral location for both parties. Not only does it make travel necessary for both bride and groom, it gives neither a home field advantage.

Secondly, I also allows everyone to focus exclusively on the wedding and what is going on in a very relaxing environment. This environment is conducive for great conversations and local activities like clam bakes or boat outings are a great way for everyone to get to know everybody.

Though it is more expensive for guests and bridal party, it can be tied into the honeymoon as well. So you are already at your destination once the guest leave. I  think that is a great idea so you just spend the next week or two relaxing.
