Christmas Gifts for 10 Year Olds

Opening gifts

So are the best Christmas gifts for 10 year olds and toddlers for 2012. Here are a few ideas I stumbled upon while browsing. This age range is often a struggle for some parents becauase children are often in a toy transition, where they are breaking away from the toddler toys and into electronics and more complicated building  projects. From building Lego rockets to making real model rockets that require adult supervision. So parents be on the lookout for a ten year old looking for the lighter! The thing about this age is that is a fantastic time for kids to really learn about all types of projects and science is a favorite as well photography and film.I remember at this age I started doing claymation using my dads camera super 9mm and had a great time and it was definitely a huge period of creativity. So picking the right gift for this age is important.

wedding wednesday: a page stationery wedding

A special treat on this Wedding Wednesday, a real wedding featuring one of our own.  If you ever called our studio, you have probably spoken with Jackie.  Jackie is our production manager and has been with Page for more than 6 years.  In honor of her and her husband’s one year anniversary we’re taking a look back at Jackie’s wedding invitations and how she selected them.

Jackie and Tim on their wedding day in 2011.

Where did you start in your search for the perfect invitation?

I had so many beautiful wedding invitations go thru my hands. I always kept a copy of the invitations that I loved the most in a little bin.  I did this for almost 6 years, thinking “one day I will get married and I can use my favorite design.”  When it came time to select our invitation, I felt overwhelmed, there was so much to choose from! I also had to think about a bilingual invitation and providing information for all of our out of town guests.

Jackie with her dad who is Page Stationery’s master pressman. Yes, Page Stationery is truly a family business! Josue had two important jobs – walking his daughter down the aisle and printing her wedding invitations and day of wedding pieces.

So, how did you decide which wedding invitation was right for you?

I talked to my now husband, and he told me “everyone has different taste, and those brides did what they like, now you just have to do what you like. Make it your own.”  And he was right! Every bride has to make their wedding their own, especially when it comes to the invitation – because that’s the first thing people will see of your wedding.  From there, everything was smooth, Sue helped so much. At the end I got so many compliments from my wedding invitations – both English & Spanish.

Jackie and Tim’s Letterpress Wedding Invitation was mounted on a topaz border inside a magnolia pocketcard.

If you and your husband were getting  married today, which design would you choose from Page’s new wedding collection?

Quinley + Marc, definitely. I love the lined pocketcard. It is classic, elegant and beautiful.

This elegant suite includes a letterpress printed invitation mounted on a gold pocketcard. The pocket on the back is lined with a quilted magnolia liner and holds the travel information and rsvp card.

What other pieces did you have for your wedding day?

We had a beautiful wedding program with a letterpress printed cover. Our initials, along with the floral design from the invitation, were letterpress printed on the cover.  The program was tied with a matching blue ribbon.

Thanks for sharing your pictures with us Jackie! We couldn’t get through a day at Page Stationery without you!

Unique Christmas Cards For 2010

Unique Christmas Cards For 2010
Every year you should send unique Christmas cards to your friends and relatives. There is a certain importance of sharing your warmest greeting with your loved ones and also spending some of the biggest festive occasions in a unique and personalized manner. Christmas is one such big occasion when we would want to share all our joys and happiness with our near and dear ones. Unique Christmas cards are a great way to do this. However such a thing has become difficult these days as you can hardly get a card that suits your style and taste and can convey exactly what you desire. Most of the Christmas cards that are available are very typical and common. In such cases you can personalize your greeting cards. This is easy to do online now as well. You can choose any of your favorite designs and then you can create your own photo card that suits your style and personality. Sending Christmas wishes in these unique photo cards would definitely make one very happy.

Many christmas cards have certain common repeated themes like the image of Santa Claus, Jesus Christ, Mother Mary, maple leaves, Christmas tree with streamers and stockings and so on. These themes do bring the mood of the festival but they often seem to be too common and typical. It is not at all advised to forget these images. We can keep these images but can look at them from a different angle. You can make your image look like that of Santa Claus on the card. This is something really different and would definitely be appreciated. In this manner you would become a part of their celebrations too and you would be remembered in more than one way using a photo holiday card.

If you are a socially aware person, then you can use the festival of Christmas as a time to spread social awareness. You can portray some relevant image on the Christmas card and make everyone give a thought to such thought provoking matters. This is because all of us know that more than celebration Christmas is a festival of spreading joy as well. By making such a card you can make others give a thought to such issues and include them in their prayers. This would automatically make you feel good from within.

When everything is getting personalized these days, then why not Christmas greetings and card? What can be more unique than a personalized and specially designed by you? This does not mean necessarily that you would get your card done online, you can actually do this manually. You can make your own Christmas cards with die-cuts, rubber stamps and designer or hand made paper. In these hand made cards you can add photos of your family or some photo that is more unique like that of your pet. You can be assured that your efforts would be very well appreciated and remembered. Homemade and creative photo Christmas cards and any day much better than the typical and common Christmas cards that you get in the stores. Hence you have many more options than that of a stationery store.

Using Custom Stationery Effectively

Custom stationery is something I have decided to renew this year. I guess you could say it is one of my new years resolutions. I just like having something fun and different to write on each month or day to just add a bit of stationery diversification. So I am ordering a new set which I will create around one of my favorite pastimes, golf. I saw this set at Page Stationery which has the golf bag on the front so I that is the one I will get. I will use some different colors and a thicker 600gsm cotton stock and loose the border but it will be nice and thick stock and one you won’t forget and I will end end up with some nice golf stationery.

Custom Stationery For After the Holidays

Well if you have not considered using custom stationery for your thank you notes after the holidays then there is barely still time to do so.

It gets crazy this time of year with everyone ordering christmas cards and holiday photo cards so there is hardly room for a custom printer to fit in personalized stationery for you to write your christmas thank you notes much less get all of their holiday orders out on time. It is therefore imperative that you plan ahead and order you stationery ahead of time, maybe even in August or early September when no one is even thinking of these things.

Personalized stationery also makes a great Christmas gift but for the same reasons don’t wait until the last minute to order it or you won’t have it in time for Christmas!

If you decide to purchase personalized stationery, it is best to express your personality and creative flair. You may want to choose your favorite theme, fonts, and colors, and add a little creativity through artworks and photos. You may also add a symbol that represents your personality. To help get more ideas, you may actually visit stationery stores and browse stationery from some online resources. If you don’t like visiting in this stores, you may search online. There are actually many websites that will show templates and samples of custom stationery. All you have to do is make them as your guide and develop your own style to make it your personalized stationery.

Merry Christmas!
